About Mark and his books

Mark has travelled to over twenty countries worldwide.  He has lived and traveled throughout Europe and the United States, traveled through South Asia and India, drove and 18-wheeler, toured as a working musician, owned a small farm, worked as a carpenter, and taught philosophy at college level.  These experiences give him a unique insight into life from numerous perspectives, and these insights can be found in his writings.

I hope that anyone reading any of my books is entertained in some sense of the word.  But I truly hope that they realize that their life is their own, and that it is short; live your life, not someone elses.  That being said, I hope these books give hope and motivation to anyone that is living a life that they do not enjoy, do not want, or do not own to change their life for the better.  Go outside!  Go do something.

The famous advice: write what you know applies to me.  With that in mind, a book truly starts long before the writing starts.  Experiences must be had and recorded.  I keep a daily journal and a travel journal.  Then the actual process of writing starts which can take from a month to several months.  Afterwards, a long process of editing begins.  I usually read through the manuscript at least three times.  Editing can take several months.  During the last edit I start the audio book recordings.  This can take a month or two as well.  Then the tedious process of formatting and design begins, which can take up to three weeks.  And voila!  A book.

I am inspired by my music and my travels.  As a self-subscribed "adventurist" I am a nomad at heart finding inspiration in the people I meet during my travels and through my love of philosophy.  I've found that life is worth writing about!

The published books are about some of my travels throughout my life.  I hope that they will be an inspiration to those who want to travel and never have, or to those simply like living vicariously.  Simply put, I hope that my travel writings will appeal to those people that are interested in spreading their own adventurist wings.
